How did you get into carpentry, and how long have you been in the trade?
I found a passion for the trade after completing work experience in Year 10 with a local builder in Orange, NSW. After completing Year 12, I commenced my carpentry apprenticeship in 2010.
I spent seven years working hands-on in the trade before expanding my experience into the education sector, where I worked as a wood work and construction support staff member, as well as an Operations Officer with the Clontarf Foundation from 2017 to 2022. During this time, I also renovated and flipped my own properties. In 2023, I founded Georgiou Made Renovations, bringing together my practical trade experience, education background, and property development knowledge. I now have a total of 16 years’ experience across the construction and renovation industry.
Locations in the country you have you worked and what do you enjoy most about being a Carpenter?
I began my carpentry apprenticeship in Orange, NSW. I later relocated to Western Australia, gaining valuable experience working with roof carpenters and constructing pitched roofs. In 2013–2014, I worked with a local builder in Forster-Tuncurry before returning to Orange to continue working with the original builder who trained me during my apprenticeship. I am now based in Forster–Tuncurry, where Georgiou Made Renovations continues to grow. I currently hold a Restricted Builder’s Licence and am working towards obtaining my full Builder’s Licence by the end of 2026. What I enjoy most about being a carpenter is that it is a trade where learning never stops, regardless of experience. It continually presents new challenges and problem-solving opportunities, which keeps the work engaging and rewarding.
What’s a Georgiou Made Renovation project that’s stands out for you?
It’s really hard to pick one Georgiou Made Renovations project that particularly stands out to me as I’ve completed so many but, up there for me so far is a large-scale deck constructed in Green Point. The project featured a hardwood deck complemented by an expansive set of hardwood stairs. The handrails and balustrades were fully timber, built using design pine and custom-designed in-house. This allowed me to apply both traditional carpentry skills and creative design, resulting in a functional yet visually striking outdoor space.
What do you enjoy most about working in the Georgiou Made Renovation team?
What I enjoy most about working within the Georgiou Made Renovations team is the strong connection we have built through shared hard work, mutual respect, and positive team culture. We take pride in maintaining a supportive environment while holding ourselves to high standards, treating every project with the same care and attention as if it were our own home
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Outside of work, I enjoy spending quality time with family and friends, coaching my children’s sporting teams, travelling on caravan holidays, and playing golf.

How did you get into carpentry, and how long have you been in the trade?
I got into the trade when i was in high school and was doing woodwork as a subject. I did a work placement with a carpenter and his apprentice. I loved the on-site fun, with the radio going and building cool things. I’ve been working as a carpenter for 18 years
Locations in the country you have you worked and what do you enjoy most about being a Carpenter?
My carpentry career began in Sydney, where I completed my apprenticeship and worked my way up to site supervisor. Seeking a better work–life balance while still doing what I love, I moved to Lord Howe Island, carrying out building and maintenance work at a resort. From there, I headed to far western NSW, working as a building manager for an outback company. In this role, I organised and completed construction and maintenance projects across remote hotels, pubs, and caravan parks — including the iconic underground cave hotel in the opal mining town of White Cliffs. After an extended stint out west, I travelled across to Western Australia, taking on various carpentry roles before settling just outside Perth in residential construction. Craving a new challenge, I then moved to a remote half-million-acre cattle station, 13 hours north of Perth, working as a station hand carrying out building and maintenance work, alongside cattle work and even helicopter mustering. Eventually, I returned to NSW to settle down and joined Georgiou Made Renovations.

How did you get into carpentry, and how long have you been in the trade?
I first got into carpentry working alongside my grandfather as a kid, helping renovate houses and learning the basics from a young age. That early exposure sparked a passion for building, and I officially started my apprenticeship at just 16. Now at 38, I bring over 22 years of hands-on experience to the trade.
Locations in the country you have you worked and what do you enjoy most about being a Carpenter?
Over the years, I’ve worked across a wide range of locations, from Sydney’s North Shore, Eastern Suburbs, and Northern Beaches, through to regional projects stretching from Seal Rocks to Taree. This variety has given me strong experience across different build styles, environments, and client needs. The best part of being a carpenter is the diversity of work — no two jobs are the same, and each project brings new challenges and opportunities to build something unique.
